Dash Board Fault

Hi,

Can anyone help. The instruments on my dash all flicker all the time. the speedo constantly flicks around, recording various speeds, so does the rev. counter, also the instrument lights flicker on and off constantly as well. It's been to the garage and the auto electrician said it was a common problem on the Galaxy and the whole dash unit needed changing. Needless to say he's done this today and the problem's still the same. If this is a common issue has anyone come accross it before. Any clues would help as the auto electritian is now investigating further and I can see the

The only thing really all those items have in common is the multi plug on the back of the clocks and the fact that they share the same earthing point, have the earthing points for these circuits been checked out? the earthing points are up under the dash and in the engine bay, also above the fuse panel is a connection point for many of the cables, check they are all ok?

if possible try and provide a nnew earth for the clocks and see what happens?

Could be a dodgy connection or soldered joint on the clocks PCB ? How handy are you (or your auto-electrician) at taking it out, dismantling it and inspecting it ?
